Compactor catches fire outside Waste Management facility in Germantown

GERMANTOWN (WITI) -- Crews responded to a fire at a Waste Management facility near 124th and Donges Bay Road in Germantown  late Wednesday night, June 11th.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that the fire began in a compactor that loads trucks outside the facility.

Officials say the flames did not spread to the building -- however, the building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

No one was injured -- and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
