Commemorative march in Saukville Tuesday in honor of 9/11 victims

SAUKVILLE -- A march to commemorate the 9/11 terrorist attacks 11 years ago was held in Saukville Tuesday evening. Firefighters, law enforcement officers, veterans, scout groups and citizens marched in silent tribute in honor and memory of victims and heroes of 9/11.

The march began at the Saukville Fire Station and ended in Grady Park in downtown Saukville, where a candlelight memorial was held.

Ozaukee County has played host to this commemorative march for the past 11 years. It is one of the largest ceremonies of this type in the metro-Milwaukee area.

The event is jointly sponsored by the Saukville Fire and Police Departments and Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470.
