Children in protective custody after drugs found in Mount Pleasant home

RACINE (WITI) -- A 35-year-old Mount Pleasant man was arrested Tuesday, March 18th after officials located drugs and drug paraphernalia in his residence while executing a narcotics-related search warrant.

Members of the Racine Sheriff's Office S.W.A.T team, agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit and Investigators from the Racine County Sheriff's Office executed two "no knock" narcotics-related search warrants around 6:45 a.m. at 103 and 109 Newman Road.

Officials say both residences were under the control of the same individual and are accessed by a common driveway.

During the search, Metro Agents and RASO Investigators located marijuana, hashish, cocaine, schedule II and schedule III narcotics, drug packaging, drug paraphernalia and over $14,000.

An additional substance recovered from the the residence is being tested for methamphetamine.

    The suspect also faces second-degree endangering safety due to three children who lived at the residence.

    The children were taken into protective custody under Human Services Drug Endangered Children protocol.
