Child injured in lawnmower accident in Town of West Bend

WEST BEND (WITI) -- An Allenton Fire official tells FOX6 News a child was injured in an accident involving a lawnmower on Tuesday, September 3rd.

It happened in the 4800 block of Lois Lane in the Town of West Bend.

Flight for Life was called to the scene, and the child, a three-year-old boy, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, before being flighted to Froedtert with right leg trauma.

We are told the lawnmower involved was a riding lawnmower.

A preliminary investigation indicates the child was running behind the lawnmower, and subsequently slipped and slid underneath the deck.

The extent of the child's injuries is unknown at this time.
