Campbellsport boy charged in Fond du Lac arrow shooting

FOND DU LAC - Prosecutors filed a juvenile delinquency petition Wednesday, June 6th against a 16-year-old Campbellsport boy they believe shot seven-year-old Aryanna Schneeberg with an arrow.

The boy was arrested roughly 10 days after Schneeberg was struck by the arrow while playing out in front of her home on Main St. in Campbellsport.

Schneeberg was flown by Flight for Life to Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa. That's because the arrow pierced through multiple organs. Days later, Schneeberg was released from the hospital with a scar on her back from where the arrow hit her -- and a scar on her front from where the doctors removed the arrow.

Another 17-year-old boy is also suspected of being involved in the shooting. The teens told police they were shooting at squirrels in a tree when Schneeberg was accidentally struck.

The Fond du Lac County district attorney has asked that the 16-year-old boy be tried in adult court.
