Business Journal: Wal-Mart proposes new "supercenter" for New Berlin

NEW BERLIN -- FOX6's partners at the Milwaukee Business Journal report Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has proposed a new "supercenter" for New Berlin.

According to the Business Journal, the store would be located near the southeast corner of West Greenfield Avenue and Moorland Road.

The company is reportedly planning a 150,000-square-foot store with a full grocery, pharmacy and garden center.

The Charcoal Grill would be torn down for the project, according to Greg Kessler, the city director of community development.

The new store at 15375 W. Greenfield Ave. would replace the Wal-Mart at 15333 W. National Ave., New Berlin.

The new store would have 50 to 100 additional employees.

A public hearing will be held on the issues at the January 7th plan commission meeting, according to the city's website.
