Bride wearing wedding dress found stabbed in IL

CHICAGO (AP) -- Relatives of a bride found stabbed to death in her wedding dress say she told few people about her plans to marry.

An autopsy Monday, May 14th found that 25-year-old Estrella Carrera died of multiple stab wounds. The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.

Carrera was found Sunday afternoon in the bathtub of her apartment in the Chicago suburb of Burbank.

Burbank police released a statement Monday calling the slaying "a domestic situation.'' The statement does not mention the name or whereabouts of the woman's husband.

Carrera leaves behind two children, ages 8 and 2. The children were in the care of a relative and were supposed to be picked up Saturday afternoon. A cousin told the Chicago Tribune that Carrera got married Friday, but told few people.
