Brewers wives pitch in to build new playground

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Brewers players and wives, staff and alumni along with people in the community assisted KaBoom organizers on Thursday, August 15th in building a new playground on the grounds of the YMCA located on 12th and North Avenue.

The new playground will provide more than 1,200 children in the community with a safe place to play. Currently, the young children have a tot lot available, but the older children are in need of a great place to play.

The KaBoom Playground Build is part of Beyond the Diamond, a series of community outreach events that will take place during the season from May-August.

These events involve partnering with Brewers Community Foundation, players/coaches, Brewers Wives, alumni and team personnel, working hands-on in the community. The community events will be funded in part by Brewers Community Foundation and focus on the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs.
