RACINE (WITI) -- Students at Jerstad-Agerholm School in Racine were temporarily evacuated from the building around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18th after students and staff noticed an unusual odor.

It was initially suspected the odor had something to do with natural gas. But a We Energies crew that responded to the school found the odor was connected to boilers at the school that were being worked on by contractors.

The boils were expected to get a thorough inspection although nothing is suspected to be wrong with them.

The all-clear was given and the children returned to class as normal.
