Body of 22-year-old California woman may have been in Walmart parking lot for months

CALIFORNIA -- The body of a 22-year-old California woman was discovered in a parking lot last week. Police say the body may have been in the busy Walmart parking lot for three months.

KSBW-TV reports that Lauren Jessie Moss’ body was found by Walmart employees inside her silver Volkswagen Jetta on February 3rd. She was last seen alive on November 13th, 2015.

Moss was last seen leaving a rehab center. She was reported missing to the police and a case was opened.

Her car had dark, tinted windows and a sunshade covering the dashboard. This made it difficult for someone to see inside the vehicle.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. Police say her death was most likely a suicide. Her sister says she left a note and there was a drug needle in the car.

The Walmart store has surveillance video of the parking lot. Their footage from only goes back to December 2015. It showed the Jetta in the same parking spot.
