Bango's Boot Camp: Bucks mascot teaches kids how to lead a healthy lifestyle

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- One of the Bucks star athletes is making appearances at Milwaukee schools to spread a very important message!

The Bucks and Molina Healthcare are once again teaming up for Bango's Boot Camp.

Bango and Dr. Cleo are teaching kids how to eat right, exercise, and the importance of staying in school.

Through skits and some friendly competitions, the kids learned that leading a healthy lifestyle can have an impact for years to come.

"Diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, cholesterol, all of this is preventative with the choices that they`re making at lunch, after school, and for dinner," said Molina Healthcare Community Outreach Coordinator Isaias Ortiz.

"I learned that junk is unhealthy and fruits and vegetables and apple juice and other kinds of things are healthy," said 3rd grader Mikala Clementi.

Bango's Boot Camp is being held at about 10 Milwaukee schools.

They'll do it again when students return to school in the fall.
