Badger Middle School on lockdown for 2nd time in a month

WEST BEND (WITI) -- Badger Middle School in West Bend was put on lockdown Thursday afternoon, February 27th after a student reported a threatening message written on the bathroom wall.

The incident began around 1:35 p.m. Officials at the school immediately notified West Bend police. Officers and detectives responded to the school. Once everyone inside was believed safe, the lockdown was lifted.

Authorities continue to investigate the source of the threat.

This is the second time the school has been on lockdown this month.

Around 9:45 a.m. February 13th, the West Bend Police Department was called to the school after a student found a suspicious object and related writings in a bathroom.

The area was evacuated and the school placed on lockdown. A 14-year-old boy was quickly determined as a suspect and the investigation showed the object was not a threat to anyone in the school.

The student in that case was taken into custody and charged with bomb scares, disorderly conduct and graffiti.
