Autopsy on 20-month-old child finds no trauma noted

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office completed its autopsy on Monday, June 3rd of a 20-month-old boy who died on Saturday, June 1st.

The autopsy found there was no trauma to the child. The cause of death is pending further testing and review.

The child was reportedly found unresponsive on the couch by his brother, inside a home in the Lincoln Park manufactured home community.

A report released by the Medical Examiner indicates the child was home with his father and 10-year-old brother when the incident occurred.

According to the report, the 10-year-old boy and the child were watching television in their bedroom prior to the incident. The report indicates that the 10-year-old moved the child to the couch and "laid him on his tummy" around 1:30 p.m.

The 10-year-old boy then stated that he went to the bathroom for the next two hours. When he returned, he found the child on the couch not breathing and woke up his father. The father then ran into the living room, found the child on the couch and called 911.

The West Allis Police Department responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m. When they arrived on the scene they found the child on the living floor and a neighbor was performing CPR.

Officials attempted to resuscitate the child but were unsuccessful.

The cause of death is pending further testing and review.
