Ashford pleads guilty to drug manufacturing, distribution charges

RACINE (WITI) — 48-year-old Andrea Ashford of Racine pleaded guilty in connection with heroin/cocaine manufacturing and distribution charges.

Ashford faces two counts — manufacture/deliver heroin (repeater) and manufacture/deliver cocaine (repeater).

Ashford was arrested following an undercover investigation into another individual, nicknamed “Hollywood.”

A CI went to “Hollywood’s” residence to purchase some crack cocaine and heroin, but “Hollywood” said he was out. Then, according to the criminal complaint in the case, Ashford offered to sell some heroin and cocaine, and the CI purchased the substances for $40.

Ashford has a history of theft charges and bail jumping.

Ashford faces up to $25,000 in fines and a maximum of 10 years in prison for each of the two counts against him.

Ashford is scheduled to be sentenced in June 2013.
