Art brings folks to Milwaukee's Third Ward this Labor Day weekend

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Art brought folks to downtown Milwaukee on Saturday, August 30th for the Third Ward Art Festival.

The two-day event features ceramics, glass, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, music and more.

Area restaurants and local vendors had food on hand, and activities for kids.

This is the event's third year. It's held every year on Labor Day weekend as a final farewell to summer.

Despite the rain on Saturday morning and afternoon, visitors to the festival say it didn't put a damper on the event.

"Actually, a couple times we've gotten under awnings, and it's passed by in 10 or 15 minutes and that's happened twice so far. People seem to be enjoying themselves and in a good mood, and it's warm which is nice," Adele Starr, who was visiting Milwaukee from Minneapolis said.

Admission to the festival is free -- and there's designated parking for $5 at two Third Ward parking structures.

The festival continues Sunday, August 31st from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
