WMC Action News 5 in Memphis reports police were called to the couple's home just after 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24th. They spoke with the 93-year-old woman's daughter, who lives in a duplex next door. That woman told police she heard her mother screaming.
When the daughter went to check on her mother, 28-year-old Thomas Standley became angry and pushed her out the door. The daughter told police she could hear her mother yelling for Standley to leave her alone.

The woman said Standley choked her, grabbed her arms, squeezed them, and violently shook her. She refused medical treatment. The woman told police she was scared of Standley and that he "hurts her all the time."
