Andrew Obregon, suspect in death of Tywon Anderson, now held at Kenosha County Jail

LAKE COUNTY, Illinois -- Andrew Obregon, a suspect in the death of Tywon Anderson, whose body was discovered in a field of corn off of Highway A in Kenosha County on September 26th waived an extradition hearing in Lake County, Illinois on Tuesday, November 3rd -- is back in Wisconsin. He is now being held at the Kenosha County Jail.

An initial court appearance in Kenosha County has been scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

Obregon was captured by authorities in Lake County, Illinois on October 13th after 11 days on the run.

Authorities say on that date, Obregon stole a 2015 vehicle equipped with OnStar.

Authorities received a 911 call from a woman who advised them her car was stolen -- and that she had been battered. The 59-year-old woman apparently went to her father's house which appeared abandoned. When she went inside, she found Obregon. She apparently talked with Obregon for awhile -- and then Obregon proceeded to batter her. The woman was flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Obregon then took the woman's car -- and headed back to the Obregon family house near County Highways JB and EW in Kenosha County. He took off from that location and headed into Illinois.

The stolen vehicle was located by Lake County Sheriff's Deputies in Zion -- and a high-speed pursuit was started.

The pursuit went into Winthrop Harbor.

Officials were able to track Obregon, get into position, and when he got close, OnStar slowed the car to five miles-per-hour -- forcing Obregon to take off running.

Lake County officials say Obregon was shot by police during the ensuing foot chase, and he suffered non life-threatening injuries.

In addition to being a suspect in the death of Tywon Anderson, Obregon was wanted for several robberies and auto thefts that occurred during his 11 days on the run.
