Amid integration with Molson Coors, MillerCoors headquarters to remain in Chicago

CHICAGO -- MillerCoors officials say the process for the company being folded into the Molson Coors company is underway. Officials say the name MillerCoors will remain, and the company's headquarters will remain in Chicago.

Molson Coors will keep its headquarters in Colorado.

Below is an email from Molson Coors Gavin Hattersley to all employees:

As I shared with you last month, planning for our integration with Molson Coors is well underway.

While this is an exciting time for both organizations, we know the excitement comes with some anxiety and questions. As we’ve said from the outset, we will share decisions as they are made in order to alleviate uncertainty as quickly as possible. With that commitment, I want to let you know about two key decisions we made recently as the Molson Coors Executive Leadership Team.

First, our organization will keep the MillerCoors name. The name reflects our proud heritage here in the U.S. and has strong recognition and brand equity with our customers. As such, we will be “MillerCoors, a Molson Coors company.” This is consistent with other Molson Coors businesses, where they lead with the established brand name in that market.

Second, based on a thorough cost and benefits analysis, our MillerCoors headquarters will remain in Chicago, and the Molson Coors headquarters will remain in Colorado.

We remain confident we will achieve the synergy targets we announced in November, largely from opportunities within our combined procurement, supply chain and shared services operations.

We’ll keep you updated as integration planning continues. In the meantime, it’s critical that we all stay fully focused on delivering our 2016 plan. That’s job number one. Thanks for all you’re doing to help us get to growth.

Cheers,

Gavin
