All aboard! Downtown trolley service kicks off Thursday, June 5th

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Downtown Milwaukee’s trolley service, the Milwaukee Trolley Loop presented by VISIT Milwaukee, will roll out Thursday, June 5th.

Operated by Transit Express, the privately funded service will run Thursdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., June 5 through Sept. 6. One complete loop is 40 minutes. Two trolleys will service the “Hop ‘n Shop, Wine ‘n Dine” route to connect visitors to downtown attractions. Rides are $1 per trip.

Attractions along the Milwaukee Trolley Loop route include the Milwaukee Public Market, Wisconsin Center, Milwaukee Public Museum, Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Milwaukee Art Museum, Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin, Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, boat tours and the theater and hotel districts. The route also encompasses downtown’s many restaurants, shops, spas and salons.

The privately funded service is currently supported by its two lead contributors, VISIT Milwaukee and Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, with additional support from the Historic Third Ward Association, Harley- Davidson Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, The Shops of Grand Avenue and Usinger Foundation.
