A thrill for car lovers: 200 classic vehicles shown off in Milwaukee Sunday

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A thrill for car lovers on Sunday, August 24th: Some of the finest classic cars, trucks and motorcycles were showcased during the "Milwaukee Masterpiece."

The event gave car lovers the chance to check out some of the coolest in classic vehicles.

More than 20 different car clubs were on hand -- showing off vehicles. Organizers say that adds up to about 200 cars, dating back as far as the early 1900s.

The newest vehicle on hand was made in the 1970s.

One lucky attendee won a 1962 Ford Mustang I Concept -- the official model of the Milwaukee Masterpiece, given away during a silent auction.

And there was a special reason to celebrate in Milwaukee on Sunday.

"It's the 50th anniversary of the Excalibur, which was actually built and born right here in Milwaukee by Milwaukee's own Brooke Stevens," Beverly Jurkowski, Milwaukee Masterpiece's Communications Director said.

Sunday was the 10th anniversary for the Milwaukee Masterpiece, which helps raise money for three local charities: the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, the Boys & Girls Club and the Meta House.
