59-year-old Iowa man killed after medical condition leads to crash in Fond du Lac County

FOND DU LAC COUNTY (WITI) -- Fond du Lac County Sheriff's officials say a 59-year-old Iowa man is dead following a crash believed to have been caused by a medical condition.

It happened on Wednesday, November 19th, shortly before 8:00 a.m.

Sheriff's officials say the Iowa man was driving a semi that traveled through the stop sign at E. Larson Drive and Hickory Road in the Town of Fond du Lac.

The semi continued westbound for several hundred yards, coming to a final resting position in a cornfield.

The driver was found slumped over the wheel.

Emergency crews arrived and performed CPR on the man, and he was then taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A medical condition has been determined to have caused his death.

The man's name hasn't been released -- as officials are working to notify family.
