47-year-old man hit, killed by train in Mt. Pleasant

MT. PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police officers found a deceased male on the Union Pacific railroad tracks between Durand Avenue and Braun Road near Willow Road on Thursday, September 19th.

According to officials, police responded to the Union Pacific railroad tracks after receiving a report that a pedestrian was struck by a southbound train.

Police say they located a 47-year-old man from California on the tracks approximately one mile south of Durand Avenue.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

This case is actively being investigated by the Mt. Pleasant Police Department with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Racine County Medical Examiner’s Office.
