400 Northwestern Mutual employees to be moved to Franklin

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee's Business Journal has reported Northwestern Mutual will relocate about 400 employees from downtown to Franklin. The company is preparing to demolish one of its three downtown buildings.

The Milwaukee-based company announced the plan to employees Wednesday, August 22nd and for the first time indicated not all of the soon-to-be-displaced downtown employees will work at another downtown building the company acquired to accommodate the demolition project.

The company said last year it would demolish its “east” building, which houses about 1,100 employees, and add new office space either downtown or in Franklin. Some of the downtown employees in the east building will be moved to an office building the company bought on North Van Buren Street across the street from Northwestern Mutual's headquarters.
