38-year-old woman arrested for OWI after vehicle found in pond
STURTEVANT (WITI) -- Officials in Sturtevant say a 38-year-old woman was arrested for OWI after her vehicle was discovered in a retention pond on Saturday, October 12th.
It happened near the parking lot of the Marcus Cinema located at 10411 Washington Avenue in the Village of Sturtevant.
Officials say the 2003 Ford Mustang was fully submerged in the retention pond.
The vehicle was pulled from the water, and then, authorities tracked down those they believe were inside earlier Saturday, including a 38-year-old woman, identified as Sheila Bell and two minor children, ages 13 and nine.
No one was injured.
Bell was arrested and police are recommending charges of OWI (second offense) with passengers under the age of 16 and two counts of second degree recklessly endangering safety.
The Racine County Water Rescue Dive Team recovered the vehicle.
