31-year-old Milwaukee man charged with using counterfeit $100 bills in Elm Grove

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A Milwaukee man has been charged with three felonies after he allegedly tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase items at an Elm Grove Walgreens.

According to Elm Grove police, 31-year-old Kelvon Rederford attempted to purchase feminine hygiene products with a counterfeit $100 bill on Wednesday, June 29th at the Elm Grove Walgreens located on Bluemound Road.

Police say Rederford was a suspect in similar investigations in Brookfield, New Berlin and Wauwatosa.

Authorities say Rederford was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court with three felony counts of uttering a forced document, as well as carrying a concealed knife and possession of a synthetic cannabinoid.

Officials say Rederford appeared in court on Friday afternoon, July 1st and had his cash bond set at $500, "authentic" currency.
