106.9 collecting $1 donations for tornado victims in Oklahoma

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The New Energy 106.9's Cousin Ed and the Energy Street Team will be collecting $1 donations Friday, May 24th to benefit the families in Oklahoma after Monday's devastating.

All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

The collection drives will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at two locations: the intersections of 27th and Oklahoma and Highway 100 and Oklahoma.

Cousin Ed told listeners "the Power of a Dollar campaign is designed to give everyone a chance to make a difference and do what they can to help those in need. The reality is, not everybody can afford the $10 text donation that's set up through the Red Cross. Every dollar counts.” To kick off the drives, singer-song writer, Jason Derulo phoned Cousin Ed to lend his support by donating the first $169.

Though we are only asking for $1 donations, cash and check donations of any dollar amount are welcome. Checks should be made out directly to "Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund."
