10-year-old son finds mother of three, her boyfriend dead, bloodied in bed

KENNER, Louisiana -- A Louisiana mother and her boyfriend were found murdered Monday morning, April 4th in an apartment in Kenner, Louisiana, while three small children were sleeping.

According to WGNO, police have ruled out murder-suicide in this case.

28-year-old Dawn Scott and 31-year-old Raynell Kimbrough were found shot multiple times in the apartment, located near 21st and Idaho Avenue in Kenner, Louisiana around 7:00 a.m.

A 10-year-old boy apparently found the couple bloodied in bed after hearing gunshots -- and he ran to a neighbor's home.

"My baby was a good girl, a good mother. She's at peace. God has her now," Scott's mother, Ellen Scott told WGNO.

"I saw our neighbors holding the baby, and one of the neighbors actually got blood on her hand because the blanket that the baby was wrapped in had blood and, you know, the EMTs didn't see that -- so as soon as she sees that, she started breaking down crying," said Gabriel Gonzales, a neighbor.

Police said the 10-year-old boy, and two other children, a two-year-old boy and an infant girl were OK after the incident.

Scott was the mother of all three children.

Kimbrough was the father of the infant.

There were no guns or gun cases found in the home, and no signs of forced entry, according to investigators.

Police have said a man was spotted fleeing the scene in a gold car that looked like a Ford Taurus.
