1 dead, 1 hurt after boat crashes into rock in Door County

TOWNSHIP OF LIBERTY GROVE — Authorities say one man was killed and another seriously hurt when a boat crashed into a large rock in northeastern Wisconsin's Door County.

The Door County Sheriff's Department says the crash was reported late Friday. WBAY-TV (http://bit.ly/2c6qXPQ ) reports the crash happened on the shore in the town of Liberty Grove.

The owner of the 23-foot high-performance boat, a 54-year-old man from Illinois, was killed. A 40-year-old man from Washington Island was seriously injured.

The crash is under investigation.
