New location for a convicted sex offender
New location for a convicted sex offender
RACINE CO. (WITI) -- In the coming days, a Racine County court will make it public. That's when the community will learn where the state will place Michael Fink, who has spent many years in custody after being committed as a sexually violent person.
A Racine woman who was a victim of Fink will start going door to door with flyers over the weekend. Her mission, to share a photo of the man who raped her.
Fink, according to the victim, may be placed in a home under strict supervision in a Racine neighborhood near 16th St. and Memorial Dr.
Fink was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in 1987. He got out of prison in 1994. He later was convicted of raping two other girls. In 2006, Fink was committed to the Sandridge Treatment Facility as a sexually violent person. Now, the state is placing him in the community from where he came. It's part of a three-year supervised plan to re-integrate him into society.
In January, state officials unknowingly placed Fink in a home right around the corner from a victim. It was a mistake the victim discovered and brought to the attention of state officials. On February 14th, that new location will be announced.
