“We are grateful:” Salvation Army reaches Red Kettle campaign goal

WAUWATOSA -- The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County reached its Annual Red Kettle Campaign goal of $3.9 million dollars, receiving generous donations totaling $ $3,970,921 million dollars.

In a news release issued on Wednesday, January 20th ,  Major Dan Jennings, Salvation Army Divisional Commander for Wisconsin and Upper Michigan said, “We are grateful for the giving hearts of so many Milwaukeeans donating $3,970,921 to help The Salvation Army in Milwaukee County reach it’s $3.9M 2015 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign goal, thank you Milwaukee for your generous support."

According to a release, eighty-four cents of every dollar donated is used to sustain 85 distinct year-round programs and services — including emergency shelter, food and clothing, disaster relief, utility and rent assistance, employment services and summer lunch programs for children,
