WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) -- Two people had to be taken to the hospital following a crash on State Highway 164 south of Riverview Drive in Waukesha County Thursday, April 16th -- one of them by Flight for Life.
It happened just after 9:00 a.m. Waukesha County Sheriff's deputies, along with members of the Lisbon and Sussex Fire Department responded to the scene of the crash.
It was determined the incident involved two vehicles -- both occupied by lone occupants. The occupants were both trapped within the vehicles, and had to be extricated.
An initial investigation determined a 23-year-old Merton man was travelling southbound on Highway 164 and it appears that he crossed the center line into northbound traffic. A 47-year-old Delafield woman was travelling northbound when the vehicles collided.
The 23-year-old man was transported to the hospital via Flight for life after suffering substantial injuries.
The 47-year-old woman was transported by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
