MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police have identified the two people killed in a stabbing Thursday night, January 16th. Police say the suspect also injured three other people, and everyone involved is related.

Both neighbors and police sources say the two people killed are the suspect's father and sister. Police say three other people were cut, including two kids, but police say those injuries are minor.

The suspect is in custody and neighbors want to know what led to this attack.

There are no signs of violence outside the pink duplex near 21st and Lapham. The only distinguishing item is holiday lights on the balcony of the upper unit.

Police say inside the apartment, a 22-year-old man stabbed 5 relatives Thursday night, two of whom died.

"My jaw hit the ground because I would never dream of anything like that happening in this part where I live right now, because I've never had it happen before," said Kevin Colley, neighbor.

Police have identified the deceased as 47-year-old Moses Garcia-Macias and 26-year-old Martha Garcia.

Police sources and neighbors tell FOX6 News they're the suspect's father and sister. Three other victims, including two children ages 8 and 9, were treated for superficial wounds.

Neighbors say they didn't know the family well, but one man says he did see the father just a few days ago.

"This past weekend, me and him helped a neighbor start their car and now, it's like, wow he's gone. It's amazing that things like this happen in this neighborhood," said Robert Pleester, neighbor.

Another neighbor says he saw the suspect in custody on Thursday night.

"They had to bring him out of the paddy wagon so they told us to go back into the house so they were taking pictures of him -- his clothes, his hands and everything," said Chris Moen, neighbor.

Just a day earlier, these neighbors paid little attention to the pink house in the middle of their block. Now, they can't help but look at it.

"That's devastating. Especially with the little ones too, it's just like man, this is horrible," said Colley.

Again, police say the three people injured in the stabbing were not critically wounded.

They expect to hand the case over to prosecutors within the next few days.
