MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Sheriff David Clarke has ordered additional driving under the influence (DUI) law enforcement patrols every weekend in an continuing effort to crack down on drunk driving.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, 20 drivers were stopped for driving under the influence last weekend, with repeat offenders racking up 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th offenses.
Officials say the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office will have zero tolerance for motorists who drive drunk and deputies will stop, test and arrest those suspected of driving drunk.
The initiative will be conducted using the resources of the MCSO Patrol Division, additional alcohol grant squads, multi-jurisdictional high visibility enforcement alcohol grant partners, MCSO OWI Task Force, and Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) squads.
