HOUSTON (WITI) -- She vowed that if she didn't find love by the time she was 40, she'd marry herself -- and that's just what a Houston woman did earlier this month -- according to the Houston Chronicle.
Yasmin Eleby married herself at the Houston Museum of African-American Culture January 3rd in a lavish ceremony featuring 10 bridesmaids, plus family members and other guests.
Eleby's sister, a minister performed the "spiritual service."
"Once she hit 40, she figured if she didn't find someone who loved her as much as she did, she would marry herself. So many people get married without thinking twice about who they are pairing with. She's attractive. She works hard. She's worldwide. She also has a sense of humor about the situation, too. It doesn't hurt her that she's now indicated to others that she has high standards," John Guess Jr., the CEO of the Houston Museum of African-American Culture said.
Eleby works overseas in the oil and gas industry.
The Houston Chronicle reports her honeymoon plans include stops in Cambodia, Laos and Dubai.
Eleby's ceremony has gone viral.
