MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the AutoZone store near 63rd and Capitol.
It happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23rd.
Police say two males walked into the store -- one taking a pack of household batteries and fleeing. The other man brought a back of household batteries up to the front counter before lifting up his shirt to reveal a handgun. That man then fled from the store with the batteries, police say.
No one was hurt, and no shots were fired.
This incident was captured by surveillance cameras -- but police are still waiting to view the footage. So far, the only description police have of the suspects is that they are black males, and they were wearing dark clothing. We're told one wore a grey hooded sweatshirt, and the other wore a black hooded sweatshirt. Both were described as either 5’9” or 5’10”.
