MILWAUKEE -- Two students at the Milwaukee School of Engineering have been tested for coronavirus, a school spokesperson said.
Those students were tested at the school's wellness center, per protocol recommended by the school. The students are currently being monitored and isolated as a precaution until the results of the tests are known.
The school released the following statement:
In response to the situation, the school has suspended all in-person and online classes starting Friday, March 13 through Friday, March 20. From March 23 through April 9, classes will be held online with an expectation to resume on-campus classes April 13.
School officials stated that they would forgo a formal final exam week, instead incorporating final exams and projects as part of regular class time with the intent of not delaying graduation and degree-completion schedules.
Students who live at MSOE resident halls are being asked to return home or to an off-campus residence as soon as possible if able. The school has canceled classes for Friday, March 13 to accommodate travel and packing needs.
All MSOE athletic and student events have been canceled through April 12.
