Milwaukee police investigating fatal stabbing on south side
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old man on the city's south side.
Officers were in the area near 13th and Cleveland just before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7th. That's when a citizen approached and alerted them to the victim's location.
The officers found the victim, who was suffering from a stab wound, and performed CPR, however the victim died on the scene.
A block away, Andrew Davis was visiting his daughter in her apartment. He told FOX6 he didn’t hear or see anything in the area overnight. “It’s horrible. The south side is getting bad. Too much violence,” he says.
Residents living in the area agree.
"It's not safe no more," said Linda Sewani. "I've only been here two years. I've seen a lot of things go down. It's just not safe."
"There be a lot of police in the area -- they have command trucks out here, they have squad cars patrolling the area. It's just, there's so much going on they can't catch everything," said Ethel Moore.
Detectives continue to investigate a motive in the stabbing and there are no suspects in custody at this time.
