MILWAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- A 58-year-old Franklin man, charged in connection with a 2012 wrong-way driving incident has had one charge against him dropped, and his case has now been concluded.
Daniel Bostedt
Daniel Bostedt pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges: disorderly conduct and endangering safety/use of a dangerous weapon. A felony charge of second degree recklessly endangering safety has been dismissed because prosecutors say Bostedt has complied with a deferred prosecution agreement.
On the misdemeanor charges, Bostedt was sentenced back in March of 2013 to serve a total of nine months in the House of Correction. That sentence was stayed, and Bostedt was ordered to serve a total of four years of probation.
Bostedt was allegedly drunk and driving southbound in the northbound lanes of I-94 at Edgerton Ave. (near the Mitchell Interchange) in October 2012. Workers in that construction zone managed to get Bostedt to stop. Video of the incident was also captured by traffic cameras within the interchange.
