Kwik Trip reopens in Mequon, donates $1,000 to city's police K-9 unit

MEQUON (WITI) -- The Kwik Trip in Mequon celebrates its grand reopening this week -- and the operators are using the opportunity to give back to the community.

A ribbon cutting ceremony took place at the new store on Cedarburg Rd. on Wednesday, January 21st. Also at the event, Kwik Trip made a $1,000 donation to the Mequon Police Department K-9 Unit.

"It's a nice donation to keep our K-9 program running. There's incidental costs above and beyond my normal budget that I need to pay for so we certainly appreciate Kwik Trip's donation," said Steve Graff, Mequon Police Chief.

Within the past couple of months, Mequon K-9 Officer "Vero" was retired and laid to rest. The department now has a new K-9 officer named "Iron."
