Guilty: Jury convicts Sedric Anderson on 12 charges in shots fired incident during attempted robbery

RACINE COUNTY (WITI) -- Accused of firing shots at a vehicle during an attempted robbery in Racine, 32-year-old Sedric Anderson was found guilty by a jury on 12 criminal charges in connection with the incident that occurred in May of 2013.

Anderson has now been convicted of the following charges:

According to the criminal complaint, Anderson approached a parked vehicle with two individuals inside around 3:00 a.m. on May 18th, 2013 near Martin Luther King Drive and Albert Street in Racine.

The criminal complaint indicates that Anderson approached the vehicle through a yard, produced a black revolver and began firing shots towards the car. During that time, the motorist "floored the accelerator" in an attempt to flee the scene.

Following the incident, the motorist struck a utility pole approximately 100 feet from the scene. After the crash, the vehicle caught on fire -- and when officials arrived on the scene they found a fully-engulfed vehicle. Both occupants were able to exit the vehicle safely.

Sedric Anderson has an extensive criminal history dating back to 2000. His bond has been revoked pending his sentencing hearing.

He will be sentenced on June 19th.
