MILWAUKEE -- Funeral arrangements have been set for nine-year-old Za'layia Jenkins, who was shot near 15th and Meinecke during a "shootout" between two groups of armed individuals on May 5th.

Jenkins, who would have turned 10 years old on Tuesday, May 17th was "legally pronounced dead/brain dead" at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16th, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at New Pitts Mortuary, located at 2031 W. Capitol Drive.
Za'layia's funeral will be held on Thursday, May 26th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at noon -- at Holy Redeemer Church of God in Christ, located at 3505 N. Mother Daniels Way.
The Milwaukee Police Department, along with Mayor Tom Barrett, Hupy and FBI Special Agent in Charge Bob Shields hosted a news conference on Tuesday afternoon, where they announced the $25,000 reward being offered by Hupy to the first person who provides information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case, and a $10,000 reward offered by the FBI.
Raap said during the news conference that tips are not coming in as quickly as they would like in this case -- and MPD officials are hopeful that the rewards, totaling $35,000, will result in more tip calls, and eventually, arrest(s).
Police say Jenkins was struck by a stray bullet while inside a home near 15th and Meinecke on Thursday, May 5th. The gunfire happened during a shootout between two groups of armed individuals. Police recovered more than 40 casings at the scene.
