MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is planning to perform required 24-month inspections on the ramps from S. 27th Street to I-41/I-43/I-894. The inspections will be performed on Saturday morning, October 17th with the use of bucket trucks to allow inspectors access to the undersides of the structures.
The work is set to begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to be completed by mid-afternoon. The work will include some short-term closures and lane restrictions. Any individual closure or lane restriction is not anticipated to last longer than an hour and a half. Some delays are anticipated which will impact traffic into and around the Mitchell Interchange.
WisDOT is asking motorists to allow for extra travel time when heading into the area -- and to remain alert for changing traffic patterns.
