FOND DU LAC -- Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded to the scene of a house fire on N. Lincoln Avenue near Thomas Street early Monday morning, December 14th. The call came in around 2:15 a.m.
When crews arrived on scene they discovered that one person was trapped on the second floor. Crews were able to rescue the person from the window without incident.
Paramedics assessed and released the occupants. No injuries reported.
Official say the fire was contained to the first floor living room, but the home sustained smoke damage throughout.
Smoke alarms were not working at the time of the fire.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
The Red Cross and Alliant Energy were called to the scene to assist. The Fond du Lac Police assisted with on-scene management and the fire investigation.
FDL Fire/Rescue will be out completing a fire safety canvas of the surrounding neighborhood today.
