MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee's popular French festival Bastille Days kicked off on Thursday, July 14th.
Bastille Days is one of the nation's largest French-themed celebrations, and takes place in Milwaukee's Cathedral Square Park from July 14th through the 17th.

According to Bastille Days officials, the free four-day event attracts 250,000 visitors annually who enjoy live music, an international marketplace, chef and wine demos, French and Cajun cuisine -- and of course, the signature 43-foot Eiffel Tower replica -- offering hourly light shows.
One of the highlights on Thursday, the first day of Bastille Days is the popular "Storm the Bastille" run and walk. More than 5,000 are expected to take part in the 32nd annual run/walk beginning at 9:00 p.m. at Jefferson and Wells.
Temporary NO PARKING signs have been installed along the Storm the Bastille routes through downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward effective Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
Drivers are urged to move their vehicles from these signed areas by 5:00 p.m. on July 14th. All vehicles still parked on these designated streets at 5:00 p.m. will be ticketed and towed.
In the event that a vehicle is towed, the city’s Tow Lot will be open an extra hour - until 7:00 p.m. - on Thursday, July 14th for owners to pay fines and fees and retrieve their vehicles.
