Fireworks begin moments before midnight — 4th of July updates

Follow along all day and night for live streams and updates as Washington, D.C. marks America's 250th birthday — from the Great American State Fair and military flyovers to the Salute to America program and fireworks over the National Mall. 

The National Mall was evacuated at 7 p.m. due to nearby storms; the gates reopened at 9:45 p.m. President Donald Trump spoke from 11:15 to 11:53 p.m. Fireworks lit up the sky over the National Mall moments before midnight.
