Additional closures are coming to the Zoo Interchange project next week
MILWAUKEE -- Some big closures are coming to the Zoo Interchange. Ryan Luck with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation joins FOX6 WakeUp to talk about all the construction that will impact your commute.
Friday 10/30:
I-41/ I-894 Northbound overnight full closure from Oklahoma to Greenfield for traffic switch - Traffic will be shifted toward the median.
The National Avenue entrance ramp to I-41/I-894 North will open on Saturday morning.
Sunday 11/1:
I-41 South overnight full closure at Watertown Plank for traffic switch
***This switch will open the new ramp from I-41 South to I-94 West and access to WIS 100 from this ramp only. Access to WIS 100 South only at this ramp.
***Drives should note that the decision point for the exit to I-94 West from I-41 South will be approximately 1/2 mile north of the current decision point.
I-94 West overnight full closure at 84th Street
Monday 11/2, Tuesday 11/3 and Wednesday 11/4:
I-94 West overnight full closure @ 84th Street for fill work and 92nd Street deck pour (11/4)
I-41 South overnight full closure at Burleigh for Pedestrian Bridge work
Thursday 11/5 and Friday 11/6:
I-94 West Full closure at the Zoo Interchange for fill operations
***Note that this week begins approximately 2 weeks of nightly full closures of I-94 West for fill operations. This effort entails moving 50,000 cubic yards of soil which at 20 yards per truck equates to 2500 truckloads of material to be moved.
