TAMPA, Fla -- No 24 Marquette took control of South Florida early and never let the Bulls go in Wednesday night's 70-47 victory in Tampa.
Todd Mayo and Vander Blue each scored 13 points for the Golden Eagles (16-5); all of Mayo's came in the first half when Buzz Williams team soared to a 38-13 advantage.
With the victory, Marquette moves back into a 1st place tie with Syracuse in the Big East conference; both teams sports 7-2 records.
