VILLAGE OF OCONOMOWOC LAKE -- A woman in The Village of Oconomowoc Lake was transported to the hospital by Flight for Life Tuesday afternoon, May 29th after Village of Oconomowoc Lake police officials say a tree branch fell on her.
An officer arrived on the scene just after 1:00 p.m. to see a woman near two large tree branches and a utility wire that was sparking nearby.
The officer believes that woman may have been gardening, when a branch estimated to be about 30 feet and another branch estimated to be about 15 feet, fell about 30 feet off of Petit Road.
The officer believes that the recent storms and wind may have played a role in the freak incident.
When the branches fell, at least one caught a utility wire, bringing it down. When police arrived on the scene, the woman was conscious, but in pain -- battered by branches and possibly electrocuted, though that hasn't yet been confirmed.
The woman's current medical condition is not known at this time.
Neighbor Lisa LaBorde walked out of her home to see what happened Tuesday afternoon. In the 20 years she's lived in the area, she says she's never seen anything like what she saw Tuesday.
"I actually heard Flight for Life going over and looked out the window. I saw the stretcher come and get her and that was it," LaBorde said.
