Rosetta Bracken
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 35-year-old Rosetta Bracken of Milwaukee is facing one count of first-degree intentional homicide in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Krystal Witek.
Witek was shot and killed near 2911 N. 11th Lane in the early morning hours of September 1st.
According to the criminal complaint, Bracken allegedly shot and killed Witek because she believed Witek set her up to be robbed.
The complaint indicates that Witek called Bracken for a ride on September 1st. When Bracken arrived to pick Witek up near 20th and Highland three masked males approached the vehicle, and attempted to rob both women.
Following the incident, Bracken allegedly shot and killed Witek.
According to a criminal complaint, a witness saw Witek crying and sobbing while walking behind a woman, later identified as Bracken, near a vacant house near 2929 N. 11th Street. The witness told police she heard Witek saying, "Rosie, I didn't do it. It wasn't me. I didn't do it, Rosie. Please believe me." The witness says Witek then fell to her knees and put both arms in front of her face. The witness then heard three gunshots.
According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, Witek died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
If convicted, Bracken could face up to life in prison.
