WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A 32-year-old man shot himself in the foot with a crossbow while hunting in the town of Vernon.
The accident happened on Saturday morning, October 17th.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, the 32-year-old Wauwatosa man was hunting on private land in the Vernon Marsh when he shot himself in the foot.
The man called 911 but was not able to give the dispatcher his exact location.
Officials say they were able to track the wounded man through the GPS in his cell phone.
The man was taken to Froedtert Hospital.
Sheriff's officials believe the man was hunting deer.
The DNR is investigating this incident.
